Hattenheimer Schützenhaus, is a Premier Cru site (Erste Lage) situated west of Hattenheim, directly above the Pfaffenberg. Deep alluvial soils with loess loam, clay, and slate weathering, providing excellent water retention. The vineyard’s slight westward slope protects vines from strong east winds, with a south-southwest exposure that ensures optimal sunlight. The grapes are harvested late from the Schützenhaus plot in Hattenheim. The wine ferments at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks and matures on the lees for about three months before bottling.
In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow with green reflections. On the nose, gooseberry notes, bright fruit, and light floral hints. In the mouth, juicy and balanced with a fine interplay of sweetness and zesty acidity. Subtle herbal spice complements the fruity notes, leading to a pleasant finish.
