The fruit comes from selected parcels within the As Eiras and Tabagon vineyards and is 100% hand-harvested. After maceration and settling, the wine undergoes fermentation in new French oak (and in some vintages a combination of French and American oak), followed by approximately 4–5 months of ageing on the lees. Compared to O Rosal, the fruit selected for Etiquete Negra exhibit greater physiological ripeness, higher concentration, lower natural acidity, and greater textural potential in order to demonstrate that Galician white wines can possess the structure, texture and ageing capacity traditionally associated with fine White Burgundy or top white Rioja, while preserving the maritime freshness and aromatic complexity that define Rías Baixas.
Intense straw-yellow colour with golden reflections. The nose is layered and complex, opening with aromas of ripe peach, mandarin peel, quince and baked apple, complemented by white flowers, aromatic herbs and subtle balsamic nuances. Ageing in French oak contributes notes of melted butter, crème brûlée, vanilla spice, toasted hazelnuts and delicate smoky undertones. On the palate, the wine is broad, rich and textural, combining ripe orchard and citrus fruit with a creamy mouthfeel, vibrant acidity and remarkable structure. The finish is long, savoury and persistent, with lingering notes of honeyed fruit, fine oak spice and maritime minerality.
