Clos de Gamot is an old vineyard of 18 ha, with only one grape variety: the Malbec. It has a superb “terroir” clay-siliceous, with pebbles and silex. One part of its vines are 120 years old and still producing some grapes. They were planted immediately after the phylloxera epidemic, in 1885. These centenary vines have very low yields of 10 to 15 hl / ha.
100% Malbec is beautifully expressive of its terroir. Red cherries, leafy tea, wild herbs, pepper and liquorice, a garrigue-style Cahors with gentle Burgundian extraction.
